Hi, just wondering what other parents are doing. Baby is now eating blueberries and other fresh fruits, but what about apples? Should I still be cooking them and pureeing or just puree uncooked apples? Is it ok to freeze like that? Thanks!

Personally I would still steam these only as it will make mashing them easier.I would be mashing rathered than pureeing at this stage.

Hi, my baby is almost nine months old, but I'm still steaming some of the harder fruits, like apple. I tried grating fresh apple, but baby didn't seem to like the texture. I am able to get away with chopping fresh pear and slightly mashing it to give baby a head start. I still need to steam the apple and then chop it. I chop blueberries in half, then mash as baby isn't too keen on the skins. I chop banana and mash slightly. I chop grapes into quarters and feed them to her fresh- she eats a little of these. Mango or papaya, just chop and mash slightly. Haven't tried melon yet So I still do a little bit of everything- steam, mash or chop!

my baby is 7.5 months old he has pureed apple(uncooked) with yoghurt with no problems. in italy they give uncooked apples to babies as one of the first foods.
i also give him uncooked pears, peaches with no problems whatsoever.

It's ok to give raw apple without peel to baby, just use a spoon to scratch the apple puree out.
