Could someone please recommend a good pediatrician?
My baby is 4 weeks old and has digestive problems (i guess).
He has lots of gas and is crying all the long when he tries
to let out the gas....Looks like he is in pain.
I'm breastfeeding him and he has only 1 poo a day, some days
none at all...
My doctor thinks he has colic and will out grow it in the next
coming months. But I would like to seek a second opinion.
Thanks!

Dr Thondup? Do a search on here for his details- highly recommended. Have you tried Gripe Water available from Bumps to Babes? Works a treat!

hi...give him infacol.....my baby too had colic from 3 weeks onwards....gave him infacol regularly and sometimes gripewater.....take him to well baby clinic at matilda....we got all the right suggestions from there itself...didnt have to go to her doctor at all....

We found Infacol much better than Gripe water.. am with smsm on that. used it on our babies for months - it is harmless.

was lucky enough never to have gone thru colic, but in regards to colic, our pead did recommend reading (& broadly following) HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK (can't remember the author) ... really worked wonders for our premie twins ... adn i'm sure the reason we never suffered thru colic (and both slept sooo incredibly) was b/c we followed much (but NOT ALL) advice from the book ... can't remember all the tips now, but it's something about swaddling (no matter what), swinging, sucking, shhing, and the kicker always seemed to be "holdingpressure on the stomach" (football hold) ... there's "more to it" than that, but if i remember correctly that was the general thing ... ...
i also remember Hulda telling us once to massage the tummy --- you'd have to confirm with her, but i think it was starting at lower right adn moving in clockwise direction --- tho this could have been primarly for just gas
BUT .. with my nephew (who's much older than our kids) we all used gripe water ... and i know it was terribly popular "back in the day"

Both my kids had really bad colic. Both were breast fed too . We tried the usuall stuff: gripe water and infacol. Infacol was slightly better but I think it only works a little with mild colic. Baby massage helps. Do a GOOGLE on baby 'colic massage' and it will show some discriptions. In the end I found a wonderfull book that help me with my second child: BABY BLISS by Dr Harvey Karp. He talks alot about swaddling your baby etc, which we did and boy it got us through colic and teething. Wish it was around with my first casue it would have saved alot of painfull screaming nights. Good luck. Oh by the way a paed recommendation: Dr Alfred Tam
