There is a homeless man on my street in Central. He is quite old and thin and sleeps openly all day and night. He never asks for money or tries to attract attention but I feel so terrible to walk by and not help.
Can anyone recommend what I should do? Will I insult him if I give him money, or what food is suitable for an older Chinese man? I know some people may think these are stupid questions, but I really dont want to hurt his feelings.
Is there a help group or something that I could ask for advice? I think he is a HK man and not from China and I dont speak cantonese.
Any ideas??

just give him a $100 bill at least it should be good for one day's worth of food (note his reaction so you know what to do next time).

Leave him be.
If he needs help, he'll ask for it.

You could try contacting St. Stephen's Society, which has many years of experience helping street sleepers and drug addicts in Hong Kong.

He's been there today. To be honest he was in the seven eleven and I don't think he's at all well. He used to live in a doorway on Seymour Road until they boarded it up. Please let me know his reaction if you leave something and he accepts it as I often want to do this but never know how he will respond.
