My sister-in-law, her hubby and her 3 daughters came last Xmas and they stayed at the Express by Holiday Inn (behind Times Square) for about HKD600 and something per night incl breakfast. Check it out and book early. They mentioned that the service was quite good for a budget hotel and the location is perfect. The other hotels I can think of in Wanchai will be The Wesley but I know the rooms are quite small.

Here is the link to the hotel :

Hope that helps.

I know this may be a bit far but Discovery Bay has apt/flats for rent at 500HKD a night. This may be ideal for your sisters family since they have children. Most flats come with appliances if needed. You can find the adverts in the DB magazine. Good luck.

My family are staying at serviced apartments in Kowloon Tong. I know it's not on the island, but the good thing about this place is that it's really quiet, they managed to get a 3 week booking (they were given whatever days they wanted) and it only came to HK$7,000 for the 3 weeks. I went and checked out the apartments and whilst they are quite old, they were immaculate and the building manager was lovely (I actually visited twice). The apartments are called Tsung Ning Court in La Salle Street (just off Waterloo Road). It's about a 10 min walk to the MTR or $15 in taxi. I've sent you a pm with the details. Good luck!

There are serviced apartments on Ice House Street in Central. I looked into them when my mum came to stay and they look quite nice. Price wasnt too bad either.

You can rent a fully furnished flat in Discovery Bay for a couple of weeks. Much cheaper than a hotel and ideal for young kids
