I have recently using FTP to upload videos to a clients FTP server. I am finding huge differences in the reliability and upload speeds - for example on Monday my 45mb video uploaded in around 10mins/430kbs and then one day later on the same computer with the same software it took 4 attempts and more than 4 hours/20kps.
I am using CuteFTP Pro, disabling firewall and antivirus when uploading.
Is this a regular problem in China (is it the great firewall's fault?)? If so, has anyone found any reliable methods to solve it?
Any help would be appreciated, I am fed up of working til after midnight watching the upload fail!!

The speed of any upload / download will be getting slower and slower as more monitoring is piled on the internet in the lead up to the next National Congress. We have noticed the speeds getting worse and have found out that even our leased lines are being monitored!
Things should be faster soon after the congress is completed.

Ahh, that makes a lot of sense. I guess the best solution is to grin and bear it and drink a lot of coffee. The strange thing for me was that on National Day itsself the upload speeds were the quickst we've had in China. Thought it was all getting better...
