piano

Of course it's possible. If you ask if it's a good idea, I would say no. I understand many parents don't want to invest in buying a piano before they know whether their child is serious about studying piano ...... however, I require my students to at least have a 88 keys, full size keyboard that is weighted and with at least one pedal. That's the MINIMUM.

The 61 keys ones often cannot produce the sounds of TWO notes played together. And because it's a portable keyboard, the weight of the keys will not be good for a serious piano beginner.

If you want to play strictly "for fun".... then of course, anything that makes a sound out of black and white keys would do. Even the ones from Toys R Us are possible to play a short simple piece.
