I have HDMI cable running through the wall from where the flat screen is placved to the AV console on the side of the room. Will that run normal DVD signals?

Only if your flat screen has HDMI and your DVD player has it as well.

Thanks. All is installed now and works like a charm. It does look better but maybe it is just the freshly rennovated flat. My stuff is all samsumg -- I willl check to see if there is a universal power.
