Hi, can someone tell me the basic qualifications requirements for a kindergarten teacher. And how should I go about to get it.

I have 2 TEFL certs & was offered a job with an English School based in HK on a p/t basis with a view to becoming f/t. This was before I had even arrived in HK!

But on the whole I do think most international schools expect at least some type of teaching qualification/PGCE or early learning qualification plus experience.

I actually come from a business background so am sure there are others out there that will provide a more in-depth answer:)

The EMB, or now EDB, is cracking down on 'non qualified or registered' teachers as such anyone teaching in a kindergarten needs to have the QKT, which is no longer being run or PGDE, which is. These are local qualificatins and have no standing in other countries. Also if you have a BA in any education area that should be ok.

For more, an accurate, info check out the Education Manpower bureau via google.
