Macau - Westin Hotel is good, great pool and beach nearby

Thailand - there are direct flights to Koh Samui and Phuket

China - been told Guilin is good (but never done it)

Kota Kinabalu - gets two thumbs up (but need at least a long weekend)

Singapore - great, loads for kids especially around Sentosa

A not too expensive trip is to Panyu, east suburb of Guangzhou to the Chime Long water park / night circus and nearby farm visit.

On Chime Long entetainment refer to

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,21903615-17102,00.html.

You can take coach from HK at Prince and wanchai area direct to Clifford Est and thence go by bus or taxi to Chime long. Coach trip is abt 2.5 to 3 hrs include border clearance. Need accomodation? try me.

Macau, Poussada Coloane, a oldfashioned familyhotel near the beach. They have puppies now. I have been there last week with my grandkids, they loved it.

There is the Chimelong Hotel in Panyu (suburb of Guangzhou). It has a white tiger restaurant, a safari park, an amusement park, a waterslide park and a night circus. I've never stayed at the Chimelong Hotel, but heard that it is OK.

You can take the KCR from HK to GZ (1.5 hours) and a taxi (45 minutes) to Chimelong.

Try Shenzhen, you have window of the world theme park on one side of the road and the happy valley theme/amusement park on the other side, both of them are whole day places and great for young kids, if you want. good hotel very close by too.

Check out the oriental kwai resort in Kanchanaburi Thailand. Perfect for the kids, small and beautifull resort, good food. lost to do and see in the surroundings and not to far from BKK
