Cockroach problem

Hi there

Recently moved into a townhouse and think we may have a c*ckroach problem.

For the past three to four weeks we have had 10 c*ckroaches come into our house. The problem is only on the ground floor (so far) and the contract said that the property had been recently fumigated.

Is this normal in HK (ie the frequency of roaches) or is this a real problem?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would say the frequency of your roaches is not normal. I would definately call in a pest control company then suggest that you spray regularly around doors/window and pour Bio Kill (enviromentally safe) down your drains on a regular basis. You could also install an electric bug repellant (sell them in Sogo) and they give off some sort of buzz to deter roaches & rats. Unsure if they have been scientifically proven, but I am convinced that they work. Have seen only 1 or 2 roaches in our house in six years and that was when we first moved in. Until you have the problem under control you may want to place some roach traps which you can get from the local supermarket around your garden, near rubbish store and near open drains or any where you think they may be comming in. Good Luck!

The fumigators are coming today. Thank goodness. Hopefully that will be the end of our c*ckroach problem.
