I teach at a primary school and starting up a drama club. We did a few special assemblies, skits and short plays, but I am sick and tired with our handheld wireless microphones - we have at most 3 or 4 working at once.
Looking for a sponsor, or a second-hand theatre sound system - I don't know exactly what would work?
Hanging microphones? the mini-mikes you wear around ear/mouth? Or any suggestions - where to get these cheaply?
Help! I would really like to put up a bigger play!

Yeah, in my dreams. The parents are out of the picture in this case - socio-economic background of our students does not allow for that. We are happy if they agree to buy books for reading programme.
I would not be posting here, if parents were eager to sponsor things like this.
And as for people involved in the production = that would be me and one more colleague. And as you can imagine, sound systems are not exactly in my budget.

I have no idea what would the amount be. I guess any amount will do.
All I know is that we could use either larger number (6 at minimum)+better quality handheld wireless microphones (so I can have more than 2-3 characters on the stage at the same time), OR the kind you wear close to your mouth. Or another system to fit our stage - maybe microphones hanging from the ceiling - I remember seing that somewhere?
Anybody could provide tech advice on this?
