Hi
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a resort in Langkawi that they had stayed in with a baby. We are going in December and I'm having trouble finding a baby-friendly place.
Thanks!

Hi there,
How old is your baby and what's your definition of a baby-friendly place?
I have a friend who brought her tot to Pelangi Beach Resort and really liked it (MayC on this forum did too).
In August, we stayed at the Tanjung Rhu Resort. A few months before, our friend also brought their toddler there.
Location: more isolated and expensive location (next to 4 seasons) compared to the more lively Pantai Cenang (where resorts like Pelangi are located).
Food: Breakfast buffet, we had no trouble finding something for our kid to eat! They also had a kids menu that we ordered from for lunch and dinner. He was 17 months old when we went and eating everything under the sun except for shellfish and nuts so no trouble there. My only concern was about milk - he's been on cow's milk since one so i brought little packs of UHT milk from singapore and kept them in the mini-bar for his morning and bedtime drink.
Sleep: Even though we didn't request for a cot (as we brought our own travel cot), we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had set one up on their own initiative when we checked-in!
Babysitting: We had a babysitter for one evening and that worked out nicely for us so that we could have a nice anniversary meal at the restaurant.
Swimming: They have 3 pools but the one we always used was the sunset pool because part of it was shallow and shaded. We brought our little bucket/pail and my kid had a great time.
Before I had my son, we also stayed at Casa Del Mar once. Very nice but more of a honeymooners resort so might not be as suitable.
Hope this helps!

Just want to add, would definitely return to Langkawi once I'm more settled with No. 2 (due in Jan 08) and would probably try Pelangi then.

We were there in July and my kids then were 11 mths and 2 yrs 10 mths. We stayed at the Holiday Villa Langkawi. They had a kiddie pool, a playroom with lots of colourful balls and a 'castle', a small playground, beach! Maybe you can check our their website for more info.

I really hope your Langkawi trip works out. I absolutely love the place, despite efforts to open it up to tourists, it still remains very un-touristy compared to places like Bali. Very laidback little place.
