grateful for any ideas, cant think of anything apart from the usual sausages (on sticks and in sausage rolls), mini-sandwiches, chicken nuggets... I dont really bake - so cupcakes or mini-muffins are out as well? Anything other ideas?? :(

You can buy cakes and muffins in the bakers.

fruit, i.e. strawberries, grapes especially nice on c*cktail sticks with either a yoghurt and honey, or chocolate dip.

pizza slices.

spring rolls- the small frozen ones you buy in wellcome seem to go down well with kids.

Rainbow bread - bread with butter and sugar sprinkles on in different shapes.

carrot and cucumber sticks with a dip.

keep it simple, kids really don't eat that much at parties.

instead of pizza slices I got some of that flat rolled puff pastry from supermarket. You take it out of the freezer, let it defrost, cut into squares, use a fork to pierce a couple of times (this stops it from puffing in the middle) and top with a bit tom, some pizza cheese etc (we used some roasted red pepper). Cook about 12 mins at 185-200. Can be reheated for a couple of mins if you want to make the day before.

you can't go wrong with fruits! chopped up strawberries, cherries, grapes....parents will be pleased with this healthy option too!

annabel karmel's toddler cookbooks has lots of ideas on sandwich fillers. you can also make a cold pasta dish using easy to hold pasta like penne and fusilli?

if you or you know the other parents don't mind chocolate, i think you should be able to find some non-bake recipes e.g. chocolate balls rolled up with rice krispies...i think i have a recipe from one of my books, will let you know when i find it!

breadsticks are good too! to be honest, kids don't eat that much during parties...you should be concerned about the parents if they are pregnant and greedy like me! :)

that is true, thanks wheelymate, it is kind of more for the parents - it is the twins club halloween party, so everyone brings something for the picnic table :)...
