Hopefully the recipes that you can share are do without cheese, if cheese, what kind of cheese to give? I do give chicken, fish and lean pork for my baby.

I've given my 8.5 mths old baby pasta with tomatoes, cauliflower and onion. Cook the pasta, cook the veggies in stock (chicken or pork bone home-made), puree everything together, no oil, no cheese, baby loves it. Also tried same method with courgette & green beans, went down well also.

Thanks Cara for letting me know... when i was b/f, onion was the 'thing' that made him to have collic but i am going to try to give him now... just a little.

Big hits with baby :

courgette, peas, potato

chicken, carrot, tomato (remove the tomato skin in case it is difficult to digest)

chicken, cauliflower, apple (apple suppose to make it sweeter, seems to work)

tofu, courgette, green beans

on Cara's advice - egg yolk, avocado, yogurt (big big hit)

Not so good - chicken, butternut squash, also fish didn't go so well, have to try again later.

MumBloxy,

'chicken, cauliflower, apple (apple suppose to make it sweeter, seems to work' - how do u prepare this dish and does it need to go with rice or pasta or other carb? I will surely try on those that you suggested.

Hi Cara, what do you use to heat up the frozen? Do you use m/wave or steam it with hot water? I do m/w style, some mothers screamed at me saying that is bad for baby's health...... :( well, this is the fastest when you have so many thing to do without a helper!

As I prefer not to use oilwith my 8+ mth baby, most of our meals are cooked till soft in a homemade chicken or pork bone stock. Just boil everything, add apple last & puree. I got this recipe from Annabel Karmel's book, which you should definitely take a look at. Lots of tasty recipes. So far I have separated proteins and carbs, ie. I usually give protein at lunch (egg yolk or about 1 oz meat), then carbs at dinner (pasta or potato). Fruits & veggies mixed in with all meals. Hope that helps.

No need to puree for an 9 month old generally. Just make sure the food is well cooked.

I used to use the microwave to defrost, but just be careful to stir really well and check the temp before giving it to baby as there can be nasty hot spots.

Tofu is good too and easy to eat. My daughters loved mozzarella and cheddar grated on their pasta too.

do get yourself the Annabel Karmel cookbook - it is very useful, esp if you are not a confident cook! babies tend to love her spaghetti bolognaise - at least mine did at that age and still do!

Ya, I am always very careful when heating up food with m/w. I have cookbook but I really would love to have recipes that had 'tried, through and true' by mothers who has older babies than mine. I like the variety of it.

Thanks everyone for your contributions.
