Am curious to hear your little one's pooing habit? I have a 8+mths who is pooing 4-5 times a day.... his poo texture is normal and he's not showing any discomfort when passing; the problem is his bum is becoming raw/rashy as it is constantly in pee or poo + constant wiping. Nurse at the clinic suggests I hold back on his fibre intake, but I'm not sure how to make up 8 oz of solids without much veggies or fruits ... would appreciate your opinions, experiences, etc!

ever since my son was about 7 months, he will poo at least once a day but can go up to 4 on certain days when there's lot of unfinished business!
i am not too worried as the texture appears ok to me. but he's never had a sore bum before and if his anus starts to look a little red, i dab on some nappy cream, that's all.
it's not just fibre intake but also certain food that might cause a sore bum - tomatoes, etc so you might want to see if that's causing the problem.

mine usually poops once to twice a day. Sometime more often.
Maybe you can wash his bum with warm water rather than using a lot of diaper wipes on him (my husband is firm about this an unless it's 5 am he will take him and sit his bum over the edge of the sink and wash after an initial gentle wipe).
I still haven't worked up the nerve to give him citrus stuff and also tomatoes.

Unfinished business is right, Wheelymate, sometimes he can poo twice in an hour! Feel like I'm killing the planet with all his nappies. I didn't realise sore bum & tomatoes, will hold off for a while & see. Goddess kali, I haven't tried citrus or berries either....

yes, tomatoes can make the bum quite sore. i try not to feed 2 tomato-based meals in a day. and washing with warm water instead of wet wipes might help too.
