Asia Medical Services 2537 5924 offer First Aid courses for helpers, price depends on the number of people in the group. Friends of mine have used this service and all have been really pleased.

Matilda do as well - I have just done one and there were a couple of helpers there (not sure what the difference is between the one for helpers or not - still same techniques?) - cant remember exactly how much - something around $1,500 rings a bell...

My DH along with a few others in our area used a lady called Jackie Simpson

simpson4@netvigator.com - she runs various courses and is highly qualified. I think we paid about $1,000 because we were in a group.

She also runs courses through the schools called Mother & Daughter evenings explaining about puberty etc.

Although I've not met her personally, my DH came back and said she was very good at explaining things because obviously English is not their first language so sometimes things need explaining further. She also tests the DH's and have to re=test before a certificate will get issued. Her company name is Grace Base Ltd.

Hope this helps.

We sent our new helper on a course with Yvonne Heavyside about 3.5 months ago, shortly after our 2nd baby was born. Yvonne does Well Baby Assessments as well and she was my lactation consultant. Yvonne runs First Aid and Baby Care courses in a group setting over 2 Saturday afternoons.

They covered relevant topics such as communication with the employer, baby and toddler care and safety, first aid, and CPR. My helper was very happy with the course and from talking to her she learned quite a bit. The helpers get a completion certificate which they are very proud of. Yvonne can also provide feedback to individual employers on the helper's participation and performance in the course. The price was approximately the same as the above postings too.

If you do a search for her name, her contact info should come up.

This was sent to me from Annerley:

Just to let you know that Annerley is running an extra CPR and First Aid course for Helpers. This is a perfect opportunity to have your Helper fully trained up to cope with an emergency situation with your child.

The course is 4 hours of training divided into 2 sessions and the dates are November 12th and 14th 3 – 5pm.

The cost is $650 and Wendy Sellinger our CPR and First Aid trainer will be running the course.

Infant and Child CPR, First Aid and Home Safety covers the procedures recommended from newborn up to the age of approximately 8 years old. A certificate of attendance will be issued on successful completion of the course.

To reserve a place for your helper, please call Heidi on 2983 1558.

Kind regards

Heidi
