Moving to UK but holding HKSAR passport

I am moving to UK with my British boyfriend next month. I hold HKSAR passport without a British nationality. Will probably settle there with him but am sure I need a visa permit after 3 (or 6, not sure) months free entry clearance. Any advice on how to get it done? I heard that my bf (fiance) can write a letter to sponsor me staying there with him. Desperate for assistance.

I know someone had a similar situation in the past. She applied for a fiance visa in Hong kong and needed to wait her visa had been done here. And then she moved to UK to meet up with him, finally got married there. So if you are both planning to get marry and perhaps you could try to apply a visa.

I lived in UK for many years. What part of UK you are moving to?

Teress, thank you indeed. We are moving to Peterborough, S of UK. He has an offer there, he is taking me with him, so I don't have a working visa whatsoever.

As I remember she had been granted for a finace visa for 1 year. I do not know you are allowed to work or not even if you hold a finace visa. But you can legally live in UK for for a certain period.

And of course you have to get advice from British Consulate before you go ahead for any decision.

Are you confident you would be happy to live in UK? It is very different between UK & HK.
