Can anyone tell me where the red minibus starts from in KT
1) to or via Central
2) to Quarry Bay/Sai Wan Ho?
Thanks!

where in KT are you? I don't know where exactly the terminal is but can probably tell you the routing is you tell me where you live? Basically you can hop into any red minibus that says Daimaru (which used to be a mall in Causeway Bay) it will pass by Central but for if you need to get there FAST, u should take the green minibus which takes you to Central ferry pier, then you will need to look for an actual minibus stop near your home. I heard from my security guard that red minibuses don't go all the way to Quarry bay/sai wan ho during day time but only late night/early morning until 8am. He is the night shift guy and thats what he takes. Apart from that there is no direct transport that goes that far.
Hope it helps for now!

There's also another red bus that runs off a street perpendicular towards the end of the tramline to Mongkok (it says Mongkok on the front). Goes thru the Western tunnel and is super fast to Mongkok

In Catchick Street - close to Manhatten Heights. Green minibuses go from Ka Wai Man Road and are always full in the morning. I'm currently going to Central, but will need to go to Quarry Bay after Xmas so trying to assess distance/time at peak travel times.
And indeed, it would be easier to work in Mongkok with the speed that red minibus gets to Mongkok!

another alternative would be taking the 18P from belcher's street and it takes you to north point..its super fast, that's what i take to go to work (in wanchai). the downside is that you need to walk to belcher's street from where you are and you need to check the schedule of the bus as it doesn't run that often. cheers k-townie!

Ah, good advice SS! How long does it take you to get to Wan Chai?

dunno, 15 minutes? depends on the traffic.
It's a bit of a pain to live in Kennedy town, as most of the buses there pass by sai ying pun, sai wan, central, etc. its not convenient at all for those of us who work on the other side of the island.
18P (and any bus that starts with 5 such as 5X, 5B, 5P) goes straight up to the bridge shortly after it exits Kennedy Town, there is traffic jam on the bridge in the morning sometimes but still better than going through the main road. Minibuses are convenient, but the bad thing is that sometimes they wait around for enough passengers before they take off..I don't have enough patience for that!
However, minibuses going BACK home are the best things ever! they are so fast, and dangerous, but FAST!

yes, I found the 5X and 43X to be quite good to get to Central in the morning. You would think the bus company would do a big express bus that went just to Central or a minibus/shuttle bus just to the MTR at Sheung Wan.

Well, I'm now based in Quarry Bay... And I have to say it really is quite a pain to get to from KT!
I tried the 18P, which gets to Wan Chai relatively quickly, but to get to North Point afterwards took far too long! Then after that I walked to QB so total travel time was about 1 hr 10 mins!
The quickest way so far is the 43X or 5X to Sheung Wan MTR then MTR/walk to work - around 50 mins.
Maybe I'll be brave enough to try the red mini bus soon....

Ok, I braved it, and have tried the red mini bus twice this week with great success!
They only go from Opp the Merton at 7.45 to 8 am (I'm let to believe) but get to QB in around 20 minutes for $11. I'm not sure where/when they go the other way.
However, I was not so keen on the driver talking on the phone with one hand and changing gear with the other as we approached the highway....
