Just would like some feedback on anyone out there that has had either (or both) of these plastic surgery operations done. I am booked in to have my thighs and hips done plus blepho on my eyelids and would like as much info both positive and negative please, so i know what to expect. I am familiar with my doctor, he did my boobs 18 months ago and i have faith in him.

I don't want anyone giving me their opinions and telling me i should not do this. Just want the facts/experiences thanks Ladies.

Hi Mum in Thailand,

Looks like we don't talk about the identical procedures but I think they have a bit in common.

Got the 2 procedures done in SG, but eyes were UPPER eyelid 10 months ago (I was born with quite dropping eyelids) and lipo (hips-stomach-love handles - arms) done just yesterday !

I would highly recommend you to get Arnica in an homeopathy form in order to minimize the bruises ( I didn't for the eyes, but got it for the lipo and from what I could peep under the garment, I have no bruises).

In term of pain, I would say the lipo wll leave you with a sore body (I feel like I have been beaten now but as the procedure was done yesterday, it sounds quite normal), anyway, the pain has nothing to see with a boob job.

I went for a so call lipo sculpture, performed with very fine canulas to get an even result. I can already feel that, when seated, my love handles are no more around :-) Will go for 3 laser treatments (included in the package) to get a faster healing (radio frequency I think), starting today, till saturday.

You mention you have faith in your doc, I think it's the key. And as long as you do it for yourself with a positive attitude everything will be fine.

All the best :-)

Thanks so much Clarins.

I am doing my upper eyelids too as the have started to droop and definately make me look old, i believe it is quite a simple procedure but i am still nervous. I was told it can be done under local but that freaked me out and i have chosen to have it done the same time as my lipo.

I will get some Arnica as you recommended. I will take approx 12 days off work, hope that is enough, please let me know more about the brusing/recovery of the blepho and your new lipo.

Thanks again and goodluck. I am surprised i have not had more advice on this thread, come on ladies there must be more people out there with experience/advice to share.

Regarding the upper eyelids, from what I remember, it took me about 4-5 days to be presentable, make-up helps a lot and depending on the color of your eyes, you can play with the color of the eyehadow. Mine are blue/green so light purple/pink was ok and really convenient !!

Also the fact that I had no stitches, just some glue and tape (amazing !), made things much easier. I think that taking the arnica should even help to get a faster recovery.

I went for local anesthesia and the doc used a laser to cut, he told me it would lessen the bleeding. I didn't feel a thing (not even the injection to numb the eyelid) everything went smoothly (that's when you have to have faith in your doc!) and it was done in 30mn. It's true that the bleeding was almost non existant.

I was worried that he would take off too much and, as I wanted something natural and not a dramatic change, I told him to be light .. today, almost a year post op, when I look at my eyelids I think he could have taken off a bit more of saggy skin... aging and gravity go together in the same direction, isn't it ? ;-) But that's ok.

As for the scars, I do have, especially on the outside end of the scar as they are not exactly in the cease and I think they show (I mean that I know they are here and I can see them) maybe I should have been given some cream to help the healing ? I don't know.. anyway, I take them as they are and I find the result verygood comparing to what I had before.

When doing this type of procedure I think the key is to accept the "no perfection" idea.

As for the lipo, I am only at day 2 so it's difficult to give you a full overview. I still feel like I have been beaten up for sure but can move around and do my things as usual (just bit slower) so it's ok. To my surprise I had a very good sleep last night.

Went from my first laser treatment today, they checked the tiny holes, everything is perfect, so far the healing process is good.

As I am swollen, I didn't notice any change on my tummy but I could already see a dramatic improvement on the arms and I am very happy. For sure my arms are very flabby now so the contention is very important to get them in shape(this statement is valid for any area of the body actually).

Oh ! another thing : ok, I couldn't notice any change on the tummy but my love handles disapeared !!! ;-)

12 days off should be more than ok, depending on your job, if your are in an office, I know some ladies who go back 1 week later. If you meet up some clients or/and travel, well, I think a bit of rest won't hurt and 12 days are ok (we still talk about invasive procedures so our body is a bit shaken).

Thanks Mayo for your unwanted comment, think you will find she died from complications from the anaesthetic.

Anyway, how are you feeling/looking now Clarins, any more news to tell me on your recovery?

Mum in Thailand, I have good news :-) It's two weeks now, here we are :

Arms : the few bruises are gone since last Saturday now. I can wear short sleeves again.

Since few days I even feel and see that my skin is more toned and my muscles did their job. The tiny holes (without stitches) are history, 3 days after the procedure I was already shaving/using deodorant as usual. Healing is perfect.

Around the hole I still have a bit of numbness and some hard spots or the armpit, but it will slowly resorb (the doc said so).

The bras bulge, on my back, below my armpit is gone :-) I can now wear tight Tshirt without those ugly bulges on my back, it looks more elegant.

Tummy : the bulge I had on the upper tummy, below my breast is gone, it really changes my figure. Making my breast standing out even more. The skin is flabby, loose and even more on the lower tummy (4 pregnancies + stretch marks, don't help for sure). So I now know it is time to do sit ups and exercise !

The love handles are gone as well, but the waist is not so defined yet, I guess I still need to wait for that.

I haven't been a good girl because didn't wear the belt long enough :-(

Anyway, I bought a lovely pink gel from Lierac (sculpt 10) and massage eveyday. This gel contains cafein, it helps to sculpt and the texture, color, fragance are heaven

The doc told me that going for draining massages will help a lot, I will start next week. Till now I still have the strange feeling of numbness and sensitivity altogether on the tummy and hips (and upper arms and armpits).

The stitches on the hips were removed on monday, and the healing is good. The scars are 7mn, so they will get lost in between the stretch marks ;-) and the doc gav me a gel to apply.

My weight didn't change much (maybe - 1kg), but my pants are loose now, which makes me feel good.

I think that early 2008 I will be able to see the full results, meanwhile I will exercise.

Overall, I would rate the whole thing at 8.5/10 as today (-1.5 being for the flabby skin).

I hope to increase the rating over the next weeks !

From what the doc said and what I could read on different forums, full results are achieved in 3 months, so I consider myself lucky to already see such changes within 2 weeks.

My comment on lipo would be this one : It's a great procedure to be done on firm skin to remove extra fat deposit. The quality of the skin is important. The amount of fat removed is important as well.

And you Mum in Thailand, when are you planning to go for your procedures? Have you booked already?

Clarins, hi good to hear from you. SOunds liek you are doing well. Yes i am booked in on Dec 21st, i have taken 12 days off work over the festive season so hopefully i will be fully recovered by the time i return.

I am nervous as i remember my breast surgery was kind of painful but even my doctor has said the lipo and blepho are not as painful as that, fingers crossed. I am also worried about the op just days before xmas but we have booked 5 days away in a resort so i can relax in relative anominity. Please keep me posted.

MIT,

You can forget the pain you got with your boob job as lipo discomfort is completely different. You will feel a bit sore for sure but the pain is not as deep (the procedure is completely different).

To me, it is more like experiencing the feeling of muscles ache after excercise. After my procedure, and during 2-3 days, the feeling was like having been beaten up - even though I have never been.

It will last only few days and by the first week it will be ok. Try to plan 2 days of full rest and it will be fine.

The most surprising feeling is the feeling of numbness or certain area (I still have it today and it's more than 2 weeks !).

Anyway, please do not worry. You know why you get it done and everything will be just fine.

As for the bleno, it is quite simple : you will have no pain at all :-)

On 21th I will be flying but I will think about you, and hope to read you here after the procedure !!

All the best!

Nula,

I am not sure how to PM someone. Please let me know how to do this and i will send you my doc's details.

Clarins,

Thanks again for all your help/advice, appreciated. Not so nervous now. Re you numbness, i had numbness for approx 6 months after i had my breasts done but they are absolutely fine now. Apparently it takes time for some of the nerves to knit back together, not sure if this is the same with lipo.

Merry Christmas ladies.

Hi All,

Well here i am back at work and very happy so far. My eyes look fab am very chuffed with the outcome. The procedure was done under local which scared the living hell out of me but was fine, a slight sting from the local anaesthetic and thats it. I had almost no bruising and once the stiches were out no one could tell a thing. The scar (what there is now) hides completely in the crease of my eye and i am confident it will fade to almost nothing.

The lipo was also fine, pain far less than the breast implants i had 18 months ago. once the bruising came out i was tender, felt a bit beaten up but bruises practically all gone now, have another week of my body stocking to endure then that is it.

Thanks to all with positives and Clarins hope you are well.

Happy New Year Ladies.

Hi MIT,

First of all, Happy New Year! All the best wishes to you and your family :-)

I am glad to read that the new you is back at work, and most of all : you are happy with the result, which is just brillant !

As for me, things are fine, still having a slightly numb feeling on the right hip and a bit of tenderness near to the armpit. Before Xmas I had 3 weeks of massages 3 times a week and it helped so much ! I will reschedule a massage per week from now on :-)

All the best to you !

Hi all of you,

I m interested in doing lipo on my hips and lower abdomen, but I m only a student and wish to go to a hospital in Guangzhou/Shenzen where they can do it with local anasthesia and where it s not superduperexpensive. I know a lot of Chinese does it, and that I can do it for around 5000 RMB in Beijing Tongren Hospital. Anyone having any good suggestions? I also wonder how long time that you are bruised and if they stitch the small wounds they do or put tape on them. Would be really thankful for suggestions and price comments in Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Thank you! All the best!
