i had to pawn some family jewllery recently. When I went back to get back it had been sold coz it was more than the 4 month max.
Is there anyway to make or beg the shop owners to inform me where it was sold to so I can try and get back somehow. Long shot I know but i have to try to get this stuff back

No, of course you can't compel them to tell you who they sold it to. If I bought something from any shop, especially a pawn shop, I'd be DEEPLY unimpressed if I thought they were giving my details out to other people.
The best you can hope for is to really, really nicely ask the owner to contact the person who bought your stuff and pass on your contact details to them. They may not even keep a record of the purchaser - pawn shops rely on absolute discretion. If they do get in touch with you, you can fully expect to be screwed on the price but it's not like you have a choice.
