Hi all,
I have been in HK for about 4 months now and really needed to have my roots, especially around my hairline, touched up. I have (or I should say DID have) long golden brown hair with blonde highlights.
Unfortunately, I made a BIG mistake a couple of days ago when I went to a local salon recommended to me in Jordan. I went to check it out first and was assured that the owner / art director was very profesional and experienced with western blonde hair including hair shows and competitions so I felt confident about getting my hair done there . . . BOY WAS I WRONG! My Chinese friends were quite shocked when I told them I paid $350 for the cut and $700 for the colour which came out with a very orangey tone, I felt quite unhappy about it and when I got home & looked in the mirror I felt like crying.
Usually I would just put an experience like this down to bad luck and naivity, but my friends convinced me to go back to the salon and ask them to do something about it. The hairdresser told me that it wasn't orange at all and that it was my fault for choosing that colour anyway! When we compared it to the colour chart it was clearly not the same colour so they eventually agreed to do it again for me but by this stage it was obvious that they don't have the expertise to fix it and I just wanted to get the hell out of there. They also refused to give me any sort of refund, I've never had a bad experience like this before and I really feel quite embarrassed about the whole thing.
So here I am now, out of pocket and feeling self-conscious with my orangey hair.
Can anyone out there give me any suggestions on what to do or where to go to fix it? I'm thinking I'll have to try and disguise it myself with a darker brown colour. Thanks.

I think what you can do to get yourself out of embarrassment is to bleach your hair instead of change it into other colours. You can get colour come out gradually then you will not look strange. Maybe it will cost you several times to lighten your hair colour.
