Help!!! Unfair Termination?

I can't speak about HK laws, but you seem to be at fault. I'd accept the termination and make sure next time that you know the correct dates, show up on time, and do whatever the employer wants (within reason) to get you oriented and started.

Your contract should have stated the commencement date and the hours of work.

Hours for orientation/training should have been written into your contract if they differed from your 'normal' hours of work.


But, missing your start date and then turning up late on your first day without phoning in would be enough to turn any employer off.


Don't think you have any recourse except, as you say, speak to the employer and learn a valuable lesson from your mistake.
