Hi! I am living here in the philippines and i am a nurse. I would love to live in hongkong with my boyfriend and i would like to ask if there are IT companies there who are hiring employees from other countries and willing to sponsor them.
My fiance is in the IT industry has a vast number of experiences in the said field. He is working for a long time now and got his masters degree two years ago. He is planning to work there but we dont have any ideas about certain companies. Any advice?
Another thing, I read about the General Admission Scheme for migrants and im also wondering how much should one have in his bank account to be approved to live there?

Yes the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme applies to people from mainland China and not elsewhere.
Your only option is for either yourself or your b/f to find employers willing to sponsor you for employment. Be aware that as an unmarried couple there are no dependent visas that will be granted so if one of you found work the other would only be able to stay 14 days at a time on a tourist visa (assuming Philippines passport) and visas runs would be limited.

A Philippine passport holder will be stamped with a 14 day entry limit, which is in effect a 14 day visitor visa. Immigration will not allow more than a couple of visa runs at most before they will stop and deny you entry for 6 months or so (up to 24 months in some cases).

finepinay, you need to leave hongkong once your visa expire

Well it's always referred to for the mainland - and the only entrants so far have been from the mainland! And one more section to consider:
Language proficiency
The applicant should be proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English.
Same site, same rules.

I wold certainly agree with Saikunga. A while back in the UK they were doing a massive recruitment drive in the Philippines for nurses and I know of a few in Australia and US as well. You would certainly have more chances in your profession as long as your qualifications and experience is good. The IT market has been dying for a few years, certainly the huge contact wages and demand disappeared a long time ago.

Thanks for the advices, i do agree that nurses here have more opportunities in other countries like Australia, Canada, UK and US but recently things have changed like in the US, the hiring of nurses temporarily stopped (freeze hiring) and they say that it will be for five years. As for Australia well nurses from the philippines i think have to go to school for a number of months or years because according to them the curriculum in the nursing schools here are lacking. As for Canada, well its a very long process and as well more years to be approved. Lucky for those filipino nurses who have worked in other countries because they are easily approved like in the case of my cousins. As for theUK well, in the present they are actually maximizing their resources as to their nurses, so im not sure if they are still hiring foreign nurses.
I was actually there in hongkong a few weeks ago to take the NCLEX exam for US and i had fun. I really just want to get out from this country and experience living in other countries like hongkong.
Do you know of foreign nurses working in hongkong hospitals? Im just wondering about the kind of work they do there....

thanks, you are right for a nurse or doctor to work in other countries like the U.S., australia and canada, one has to passed their licensure exam before he/she is allowed to work in the hospital. Ive already took the licensure exam for the US and just waiting for the results.
When it comes to me working there in hongkong, well im really interested on that and maybe next year try to take the exam.
