I need a dress for a semi-formal ball i'm going to in less than 24 hours.
I'm a UK 14/16 and don't want to spend more than about $1000.00.

I know it sounds dull but M+S have all their Christmas stock in - it might be worth a look - you'll find your size and they do have some great things if you look. You can't go wrong with a black dress and then just accessorize really well to complement it - or add a nice shrug (H+M have loads of lovely ones which would look great with a good brooch too).
I know it doesn't sound very glam, but you can mix and match the high street stuff with nice jewelery and a bag and you'll be fine.

Went to Peddar Bldg, 4/F Favour Co. and my goodness got a gorgeous dress there for $649.00 and well worth it. Only problem was shoes i bought to go with them were more, oh well.
