Day trip cycle to the Great wall

Has anyone done it? And with a child? I see that it is possible to hire bikes easily in Beijing, how about with a childs bike seat?


Any real life recent family experiences out there?

i was born in peking,when i was young, i went to the changping district (near the great wall and ming tombs) with my friends by bike ,you know ,at that time ,there used to be a special road for the bike ,but in order to build the express way to the badaling section and ming tomb, the road changed ,except the main road ,we only have the side road ,both used by car and motor and bike ,so you can imagine how dangerous the road is,in my opinion ,you could feel the bike trip to some other places , and it is easy to hire a bike in your hotel, they could afford that service
