A friend of mine just got an offer working in HK. How long does it take the employer to get a working permit (visa) for her? And can she also get one for her husband? How? Many thanks.

Can take normally between 4 week to 3 months. Her husband can apply for a dependent visa which will allow him to work.

It takes the employer 6-8 weeks to get a working visa for her. The husband will be given a dependant visa on the basis that he is dependant on her. The wife should apply to the Immigration Department for a dependant visa once she obtains her visa.

Thanks for all of your great information. To associates - what you said is that my friend can send in the application for her husband to get the dependant visa after she's got hers, and there is no need to have her employer to send in the application, correct?
