The next time it happens ask them to provide you a no. you can call as you would prefer to talk to them, if they don't come back after that you can definitely conclude they are weird :)
I don't think it is local culture though, I've met some of the parents of my son's classmates and they are lovely people.

I really give benefit of the doubt to people living in this stressful city. Often times, we lost common courtesy, trust and inability to look at the goodness of a person.
Granted there are bad eggs, without a shadow of a doubt. But I subscribe to the theroy that if we are genuine and sincere to people without expectation that it will be reciprocated, the world would be a better place.
I had the feeling that I could have offended is-no-awabi when there was no acknowledgement from her. Well, I dismissed the whole thing. I am only bringing it up because, like you, I agree that people respond to our behaviour. It depends on how we treat others, then we will be treated accordingly.
thanks for sharing Peggie. I do hope our dialogue can get a few people to reflect on the issue and give themselves and others respect.

We actually xchanged private emails, I believe, sometime in March. We chatted about your planned renovation then and from then, we got onto the subject of kids education which I didn't get any feedback from you. Not to worry.
