Where can I buy a Wii? Also, I have only seen one in the US. Is the local one the same as the US one?

D&G Electronic shop, IFC above Pret - ask them. The units are de chipped and play games from all regions. I have been very happy with mine.

I just bought a Wii at Wanchai computer Centre. The first shop unit we went to was out of stock but continued other stores in the centre and found one from Concept Digital. Make sure you buy the US version and not japanese. If you want the details of them let me know.

Thanks. Is it obvious which is Japanese and which is US?

The Japanese version is in . . er . . Japanese and the US version is in English :) No, seriously, it's not obvious just by looking at them but the sales staff should be able to point out the differences.
Try 188 Wanchai Road. One floor up. Yamamoto Game Centre. Chipped Wii US version with two sets of controllers is $4,100. Allows you to play copy and downloaded games.

I've been calling around and understand that the control for a second person is not included? But no one knows where I can get another control. (The point is to have people in the family be able to play against one another.) Did anyone see one with more than one control included? They have two controls in the U.S.
Also, what type of adaptor do they need?
FYI - Been calling around and Toys R Us has the Wii for $3,499 but no remote control included and no adaptor. DG Lifestyles (IFC) has them for a whopping $4,800, but only one control.

Go to Sham Shui Po - Golden shopping arcade. Can pick up US chipped versions and can pick up extra controllors too.
I bought a jap one a few months ago and it included 2 controllers... however...soon got bored and moved on to Xbox360...

I went to Sham Shui Po yesterday to purchase a WII. Bought a modified Japanese unit, cost 2100, had to add the extra controller though at HK$400. Lots of help there, plenty of stock.
The US version was over $4000.
I brought a local colleague with me, and the comment was that there is no need to buy the US version, unless you want to take back to the US. All of the English games work on both versions.
My only concern is that the instructions are in Japanese, if we ever need to check anything up!!!
Toysrus have no stock left of the WII apparently.

Devoncouple,
Do you know what time Yamamoto Game Centre opens? I can't find a phone number for them.
Thanks!
