quick question - at this time of year - how long will a visa take at the shenzen border take - should i allow more than an hour to complete..

Depends on time of day and day of week. Rarely more than 10-15 minutes in non-peak hours. Be certain yours is a nationality where border visas can be obtained.

It's a hit or miss. It took my husband 1.5 hours at the border when he had to go same day. Otherwise I recommend doing an expedited visa..it takes a day and cost just as much if not less.
