Well, nothing new in my house. Helper mixed colours in the laundry and now I have some white shirts with grey patches. Any suggestions how I can remove these stains, please????

Quickly pop it into some weak bleach solution and rinse as norm.

Have you tried CitySuper? (Or maybe Jusco or the household section of Sogo?) CitySuper used to stock sachets that you throw in the machine, do a normal wash and your clothes - whether whites, coloured or mixed - are miraculously restored to their original colours. Dylon Color Run is one brand which would definitely do the trick. To be honest, if you can live without the shirts for the moment I'd wait until you can get hold of one of these specific colour rescue products. It'll still work a long time after the mishap has happened (it took me five years to eventually got round to rescuing a much-loved white skirt I'd inadvertently dyed with bright pink splodges and it's now as good as new again). Good luck!

In case you haven't fixed the problem yet, I saw the Dylon sachets I mentioned above in IFC2 CitySuper on Thursday. They do one for returning white clothes to their former glory and another for rescuing coloured garments. They cost just a few dollars and definitely work.

thames, thanks a lot for the tip. infact i had soaked the shirt in Vanish Oxi Action Fabric stain remover for 2 nights and the grey patches are nearly gone...but still some work is needed to remove it completely. I shall pop over to CitySuper and pick up the Dylon satches. Hopefully it should do the trick. I am being asked an update on the situation by hubby everyday :(
