Could anyone recommend a good international insurance provider for household effects? We are having trouble with our insurance company covering high-value items such as rugs, electronics, and jewelry.

We just use the standard HSBC household insurance, which is cheap and pays out for the majority of things even when items are lost outside of the house (when I got my bag stolen for example). You do have to itemise things over a certain value.

My understanding with HSBC is you need to keep over a million HKD in the account to itemise with your insurance? Prefer not to as we keep our $$ overseas.
