parking Fines

Are parking fines linked to the car or the person? My friend wishes to transfer his car to my name as he is leaving HK but he has some outstanding parking fines.


Am I liable for these or do they only apply to the car owner?

I don't think it's linked to the car b/c when I received a ticket by mail, they needed to verify that I was driving the car before the ticket could officially be issued. I really don't know though. You should call the Department.

-namste, he is asking about parking tickets not about jumping a red light or over-speeding ticket.

parking tickets are related to car and car cannot be trasfered untill fines are settled.
