Sourcing Embroidery, Fabrics etc

Hello! I'm trying to locate a few things...first, someone who is able to embroider and bead based on info given them. I have contacts with large scale manufacturers but they only wish to work with mass production. Does anyone know of someone/a small company who would be willing to work on quite intricate product on a small scale?


Secondly, is there anywhere in Hong Kong where they sell imported fabrics from India? I'm looking specifically for silks and hand embroidered fabrics/saris (that haven't been grossly overpriced!)


Third (and final!), there are many menswear tailors in Hong Kong but I haven't come across any womenswear dressmakers...I'm not looking for bridal - more day to evening.


Unfortunately my command of cantonese is not great so they need to be able to speak basic english as well.

some shops on Miramar Bldg on Nathan Road - diagonally opposite the Kowloon Mosque... also undertake tailoring indian style clothes such as Salwaar Kameez sets, attaching saree falls, small girls' lehenga cholis etc. You could ask them if they undertake to do beadwork. But I am doubtful since they are done on large table frames and space being premium in HK its a big IF. Remember if you put down wastepaper basket costing $10 its sitting on 1sft space costing upwards $300++ !!

Sorry I dont remember the shops' names, but my daughter (when she used to live in HK) would get stuff done there along with a couple of her friends.

They did alter western style suits and shirts bought in the wholesale clothes and accessories markets here.

On Li Yuen street east and west in central, there are fabric shops that sell shantung silks and thai silks. if you can make-do with these instead of Indian silk, then go and take a look. In Western Market also they sell these, but at three times the price of Li Yuen street shops.
