I think I wish this site had a pet forum--my adopted alley cat almost certainly behaves differently from her feline cousins abroad. It would be nice to share experiences and ideas. However the specific question is: instead of buying tiny tins of branded cat food at the supermarkets, are there any wholesale outlets in Hong Kong selling the brands (like Whiskas) in bulk at volume discount prices?

I'm not able to answer your question about cat food, but I would like to second your call for a pet forum. As a relative newbie to HK, its hard to find the best places to get stuff for pets, the best vets, the best boarding kennels etc. As you say, it would also be nice to chat over problems and experiences with other pet owners.

Good morning all.

Welcome to HK if you are both relatively new here.

I'm a Brit who has been living here for 11 years, so I feel I can put my "2 cents" worth into this forum. There are Cat forums here in HK, sadly they are all in chinese, or the English language ones fade in and out due to lack of interest...so not much use to us English only readers. . (Now maybe that's a good idea to start our own).

My Wife is a local HK girl, so I am able to gain info from the sites via her. We are also "Foster parents" for Cats in Hong Kong. I used to work for the SPCA HK and was one of their first Foster Parents back in the early 2000's.

We also look after stray kittens found by friends.

There are a few companies who deliver food in bulk, but again it all tends to be in Chinese. If anyone would like to PM me, then maybe I can talk at depth about it more.
