Fresh vegetables and herbs?
I live in the area Maoming Lu/Nanjing Lu and I see fruitsstalls everywhere but no veggies...
Any advice on where in this neighborhood I can buy them.
Thanks!

Ask your ayi to show you where they are.
They're called 'wet markets' in south China and are in most neighbourhoods. Go with your ayi so you can see how much she pays for items. And it's great if you can learn enough Mandarin to ask for things yourself. You'll almost always get better prices if you are making an effort. Learn some Shanghaiese and you'll be warmly welcomed!
Fruitstalls are often clustered around hospitals in China since it's a common gift when you visit someone in hospital.

I've seen 2 wet markets on either side of Nanjing Rd's backstreets.
- around central Xhejiang Road and Hangkou Road, right behind Howard Johnson Hotel.
- either Ninbo Rd or Niuzhuang Rd ( lanes opposite Hotel Sofitel)
Most of these are makeshift stalls and will disappear before 8am.

Thanks!
I will check it out. I am sure the price will be better than the City Supermarketprices!

Now a day, Herbs are available in all the place because herbs are very popular for their health benefits. Many people use herbs for making herbal tea and drink herbal tea regularly.
