Changes in breast after breastfeeding

ORIGINAL POST

Hi...I have stopped breastfeeding for 1.5 months. I noticed my breast size is one cup bigger than before pregnancy. Will this stay (*->) or will they gradually reduce further? I know of some mums, their boobs become smaller than before!

Does it take few months to graduately reduce?

It can take a while yes. But they probably won't be the exact shape as before even when they go back to size.

Hi PDNS and axptguy38, how long does it take for your breast to 'stabilise' in your case?

Well, my wife was already pregnant again when she stopped breastfeeding the first time, and now she's breastfeeding again so I don't think they ever really stabilized, but I hear it's 3-12 months. Heck it probably depends on exercise and diet.

"axptguy38 is a "she"? :-p"

axptguy38 is a he, but like most guys he's very interested in breasts. ;)

i stop b/f 5 months ago and now I notice my breasts are smaller so i guess it takes about 3-4 months. I noticed from wearing my pre-pregnancy bras, there are somewhat 'loose'!!! It is ok with me as i do like smaller boobs :)

I was just talking to a client who said she was a C cup before her pregnancies. After her first baby weaned, she went down to a B cup and after her second she went down to a A cup. It took about 4 months after weaning for her. Mine didn't change size, just pregnancy and gravity has made changes...thank goodness for Wonderbra!

Well, I have recently stopped BF and I can honestly say mine are smaller than before! Get out your magnifying glass, b/c I didn't have much to begin with... Boo Hoo! But, I have a wonderful baby to show for it.

Just gradually replace the feedings, one at a time, with other fare, over a period of several weeks. It's easiest to replace morning and mid day feedings first. Feedings before naps or night time involve a tired child that needs familiarity, not new experiences.

Everything changes due to pregnancy - your rib cage will be bigger so you often have a wider size which makes for a cup size less. I got fatter all round so went up all round.
