You just need to do it cold turkey.

Your daughter knows how to drink from a cup and straw, she just refuses to when it is milk.

So you pick a day, and throw away the bottles, and only offer her the milk in a cup with a straw (make it a different cup from the water cup). Have it at meals and at hand during the day - don't force it on her.

You might have 2-5 days of a thirsty daughter, but then she will surprise you and just drink.

For us on day 3 or so, our son just walked over the the cup and picked it up and drank! We were totally shocked and thrilled at the same time. He was 1 year and a week or two old.

Our Dr said that 'when he is thirsty enough, he will drink' and he was right, so don't worry about starving your daugther, etc...

We did this at 12 months, and 3 friends then followed suit... there are a few hard days, but after that all is forgotten and the cup and straw rule.

The younger the better - do it at 16 months rather than 3 years when they can discuss it with you hahaha.

Quite. As the wise Dr. Spock says: "Babies know a lot about nutrition." Holds true for toddlers. ;)

"Milk has a distinctive flavour. Until today I don't really like to drink it plain and I understand your daughter's wrenches."

I must say most HK milk doesn't taste very good. "Pura" has an ok taste. But it's not in my global top 5. ;)

Yeah. Same with skim milk, which is not actually skim milk but "milk drink". IIRC it says "water, milk" or something like that.

The 3-4 "skim milks" I have tried in HK taste pretty nasty.
