Can anyone pass on the name of an american travel agent. We want some advice on holidays in the USA.
Apologise now to all the non-american travel agents.

Perhaps it's easier to just call a travel agent in the US. Unfortunately I can't recommend one. We mostly traveled on our own in the US. It's a very easy country to travel in.

Actually we don't need an american travel agent. just someone who knows a bit about the USA. Where should we fly to? Where should be drive to? Where should we depart from to come back to HK? How do we arrange car hire? Where can we find cheap flights from LAX to NY? Where should we stay?
Those general questions.
Anyone??

"Actually we don't need an american travel agent. just someone who knows a bit about the USA. "
I would recommend getting a good guide like Lonely Planet and do some reading to start with.
"Where should we fly to?"
What do you want to see? The main US gateways are LA, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago and New York.
"Where should be drive to?"
Soooo much to see. If you can only see one thing, perhaps the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
"How do we arrange car hire?"
There's no easier place to get car hire in than the US. Try Hertz.com, alamo.com, avis.com, nationalcar.com...
"Where can we find cheap flights from LAX to NY?"
www.kayak.com. BTW LA to NY is a premium route. You can usually save a lot by making taking a flight with a stop or going in the middle of the day.
"Where should we stay?"
Just like with cars, there's no easier place to find hotels than the US. Check expedia.com, hotels.com. If you don't happen to arrive during a convention, there will be rooms available at any of a large number of chains like Marriott, Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Hilton...
