Hi, Im tagging along with my husband on a business trip to Singapore, never been there before and staying at the St Regis. Can anyone offer any advice on what to do and see whilst there? We would also like a nice restaurant too. Thank you

Depends on your preferences and how many days you'll be there.
1. Shop till you drop. There are so many malls & boutiques, so depends on what you want to buy.
2. Visit Night Safari , Sentosa Island, Bird Park, Zoo
3. Dinner in Clarke Quay- Quayside Seafood Restaurant (Block A) and Lotus Grill (Block D) are fantastic.
Tiffin lunch/dinner & Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel.

Highly recommend the night safari which is some 15 miles away so allow plenty of travel time and suggest you get there when it opens as it does get busy. By the way, there is food there, nothing wow but the outdoor food area selling chinese, indian food is OK otherwise its McDonalds type outlet.
Take a trip over to Sentosa on the cable car - we had great fun there doing lots of rides. Pick up the cable car at Vivo City - see link below.
Otherwise go to Suntec City Shopping Centre (taxis know where it is) and go inside to the booking desk for the tours. There are 2, one historical buildings and the other shopping areas. You can also do a ducktour which needs early booking as its very popular http://www.ducktours.com.sg/ Doing the bus trips is a good way of seeing all the popular areas.
We found there was a lot more western style clothing stores:-

Obviously there are loads of high end fashion shops along Orchard Road too.
There is also Vivo City shopping centre which is huge and this is where you pick up the cable car to go to Sentosa.

Hope you have a wonderful time. My family and I did in the summer last year.

Thanks very much FunchalPP and Maz27 for your replies and links, so helpful. We will certainly be doing some of the things you've both suggested. Thanks again
