Pan-fry fish with oil and 2 pieces of ginger until brown and splash efficient water covering fish - turn to big fire and let it boil until liquid turns milky then simmer the soup. On the other hand, whatever ingredients you wish to put in the soup can be boiled in another pan and just join them together.


Some ideas to add in the soup:

Tomato, potatoes and lean pork;

Any kind of melons plus lean pork and add some dry scallops which would enchanced the taste;

Bean-curd plus lean pork;

Carrot, sweet-corn or potato plus lean pork.


This soup takes about one & a half to two hours depending on your preferences of how creamer or dense you like your soup. There's a little trick which helps to make the soup tastier by putting on a big fire for the last ten minutes or so.


If afraid of fish bone, use a net which you can obtain in any supermarket.

There is middle part of the fish you can get app. for hk$10 in the market. its black color on the top.


u can chop some vegetable such as carrots, tomatoes, ginger into big chunks and boil them, on the other side pan fry the fish in some oil when done remove the black skin with a knife (it'll be very easy as the fish is cooked), add the fish to the boilding vegetables, with some salt and black pepper. Turn the heat to medium and cook for about 45-50 min.

Dont worry about the bone, they are big so u can remove them while eating the fish.
