Hi,

I've had a friend staying with me, and he's bought a pair of huge jade dragons from shenzhen. They just got delivered in a wooden box that weighs around 90kg.

Now he's talking about buying a coffee table!!

Now we're wondering about the best way to send them home. It isn't like he'll be able to get them to the airport, and the excess baggage would cost a fortune anyways.

What are the options?

Can he get someone to come get them and put them on a ship somewhere...?

Do any of you guys have any expereince with this sort o thing? What are your plans for the stuff yo uwant to take with you when you head back home?

TIA!

Lol. Talk about not thinking the whole thing through. ;)

Anyway my "solution" would be to call some stores in Horizon Plaza and ask who they use. They ship furniture all the time. Shipping by boat is certainly less expensive than by air.

Try 'Round the World Logistics'. Sorry the details are in the office. Quite a few of our staff have used them and very happy with the service and the price. You will find details on the 'web'.

Warn your friend that he may have to pay customs and gst if they are going into Australia. If you are a resident of HK it may pay to have your name as the 'sender' and get the invoices back dated 12 months and state that you are sending goods home due to lack of space in your apartment. This may avoid the taxes on entry.
