Does anyone know if the hinge at the cover can be tighten to enable the screen to stay up? Cover falls when moving laptop with cover open...

What kind of laptop? If it's a Thinkpad the screws are typically accessible and you can tighten them. On some models you may need to open the shell (more screws) to get to the hinge screws.
