Learning Italian in HK

Can somebody recommend a good school to learn Italian?

I am interested in evening classes, once or twice a week.

I have got the name of some schools through the website of the Italian consulate, but I'd like to hear from someone who has learned or is learning Italian in HK.

Thanks a lot.

We're a small group of linguists specialising in European languages. We offer private Italian lessons for honeymoon, retirement, fashion / opera / art lovers, etc. We're also in the process of organising public monthly small group (2 - 5 students) Italian courses for beginners in Taikoo Shing, Central and Wanchai / Admiralty both during the day (for stay home mothers for instance) and after work. You'll be able to meet new people, learn something fun and useful and maybe pursue a hobby related to the Italian culture. Send us a private message (go to messages, compose, find the name of the user you want to send a private message to) if interested.

Lingua,

i sent you a message. Please check your inbox.

I would like to know more about your classes. I can already speak some Italian, but would like to improve my grammar. I am a bit confused by what you posted, i don't fit into any of the categories you mentioned, none of my hobbies and interests have anything to do with Italian. I didn't learn English because i liked British fashion, art or men. And i certainly never entertained the idea of retiring to the UK. Similarly, i'd like to improve my Italian, but not because of opera, honeymoon, fashion, pizza or any other cliches about Italy. I simply love the language and would like to be able to communicate in Italian. Are your teachers qualified to teach Italian as a foreign language? I had one bad experience with a private tutor before, as she couldn't tell the difference between an adverb and an adjective.

Thanks,

but i'd rather join a group than learn with a private tutor. I feel more motivated in a classroom setting.

My professor at a top university in Europe knew a lot about grammar but I eventually dropped his course.

There's a lot of beauty to be discovered in Italian and the country where it's spoken.

We're organising short courses for beginners and semi-beginners of Italian who would like to meet new people:

in Taikoo Shing / Cityplaza (underground: Tai Koo, Hong Kong Island)

1 hour / week: (choice of) Tue 11-12, Tue 2:30-3:30, Wed 11-12, Wed 2:30-3:30

preferably 4 students / class, max 5

$150 - $300 / person

Though we expect most of the students to be Hong Kong, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Chinese stay home mothers, everyone interested is welcome. Please send a private message (go to messages, compose, find the name lingua) with your email for more info or to book.
