My son took his chicken pox vaccine 10 days ago. No fever. But he had a few red spots on his shoulders/back which subsided after applying a cream given by his dermatologist. No irritation from those spots.
Is this normal? Would the appearance of spots subside soon?

not sure if i am right but recall my son's doc saying that sometimes the child will have a minor case of the pox after getting the vaccine so not sure if the rash you describe is it.
the best thing is to call the doc for proper medical advice!!
my son took it at 14 months and was totally ok.

You didn't have this vaccine for your kids? What age did the chicken pox appear? i posted the thread on chicken pox vaccine few months ago, and people has different opinion. Well, i haven't done it to my 15 month old son. My husband doesn't like it, as well as our trusted family doctor. His pedia said it depends on us.

ok, we did it and while i am for all of the compulsory vaccines i had to do for my kids, i slightly regret the chicken pox one, which was optional. because in a way, it doesn't guarantee total immunity. you might still get it and supposedly not just once except in very mild forms. thinking back, i think i would rather my kid contract chicken pox like kids would and be done with it once and for all. i will definitely think carefully before getting it for my newborn when he is of age next time.
