Hi !
I'm wondering if my memory serves me correctly. Is it correct that Spouses of Visa Holders here in Hong Kong can work too ? They are able to 'piggyback' on the original visa holders "visa" ?? Was this law amended to attract more Expats to Hong Kong? I appreciate any help you might be able to offer.
Cheers!

Not a piggyback. It is called a Dependant Visa and allows the spouses of Employment Visa holders to work while their spouses hold a valid employment visa.
Not changed to attract more expats, this is how it was originally and it was stopped during the economic downturn here in HK. It was amended in 2006, allowing dependant visa holders to work.
Note: Those who were dependant on PR were always able to work.

Is it the same in Beijing? My husband will work there and I want to be able to work too, can I use his Visa or do I need to get my own?
