My daughter is 10 months and I started bread and toast at about 9months. She likes certain types of bread but is not impressed with a cream cheese sandwich unless she is really hungry. I usually give her fruit mixed with wetbix and milk or formula for breakfast. There are lots of breakfast ideas in the cheerios for breakfast thread just under this one

Try taking the crust off and giving small pieces. Most likely he will just "chew the cud" for a while and possibly spit it out. But he'll get the hang of it.

my almost 2 year old has been on oatmeal (and now we vary with cheerios) and a banana for breakfast every morning since he was about 8 months old....

i would give little bits of bread as a snack first to get him used to it before serving it as a main breakfast...
