Crowding during Chinese New Year

Hi all,

I was just wondering how many tourists descend on HK during the CNY week. Is it crazy? Does it get worse around Thursday/Friday?

Thanks.

Unfortunately for me I have the opposite. I live right next to one of the most popular temples in HK for CNY and it's 3 weeks of mayhem, right from day 1. 1000's and 1000's of tourists makes walking down the street a nightmare. Always happier when it's over!

The streets are empty but places like Ocean Park are heaving. One day during last CNY after the public holiday, I went, it was horrible. The lady in the carpark kiosk reckoned they were getting 400,000 people a day. Although that figure may have been lost in translation... but still horrible.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess it's stay at home time. ;)

Could you give me some idea of Monday-Wednesday. Same thing as Thursday-Sunday?
