Hello,
I am from an Australian, female, early 20's - will be going to Hong Kong on secondment for 3 months... have only briefly visited Hong Kong a little while ago... I might be going to Hong Kong around May/April. What is fun/enjoyable to do in HK - what do young professionals do after work/weekends? Is there an area within HK that is frequented by expats? Any recommendations as to websites or other materials on the topic of working in HK? Anything that I should be cautious/aware of when working in Hong Kong?
Any other general advice?
I would be grateful for any assistance!
Thank you.

Dear Ms T,
I assume you do go alone to HK and you are quite young, so LKF Lan Kwai Fong to hang out after work for a drink is where many westerners go and there it is quite easy to socialize. Since you will stay only short term there is plenty of the classical stuff to do, the peak, the local markets, sea food places on the outlying islands... Depending on what you like since the weather is still not too hot hiking in Hong Kong is great. If you do not want to be alone join Michael Hansen Hikes or go to the YWCA english speaking section. Most Yoga studios offer 3 month contracts if you like to try that, once in asia I recommend since they are more advances here.
Regarding work it depens which sector you are in and whether you will have a western or asian environment. Let me know I can tell you a lot more about HK if you like.
All the best, HK is a great place, dont miss the expierience, Rita
