Electric water heater

Anybody have any experience with electric water heaters? Right now I use gas which is fine, but I'm renovating and designer suggested electric so they can be hidden. Efficiency good? Where would I find the most choice of models? Thanks!

We have one in each bathroom and they work fine. Doesn't feel different from the gas one we have in the kitchen. Perhaps a bit less heat but no issues for showers/baths. I have no idea if the hot water costs more or less than gas. I guess the advantage is that you don't have to run a gas line and you don't need a vent to outside. Oh and they don't make the cool "whoooomp!" sound you get from gas. ;)

Lockhart Road in Wan Chai (east of the Immigration Tower/Wan Chai MTR walkway) has a whole load of plumbing/bathroom stores.

i prefer gas - continous supply of hot water. i live on hkg island. but now still on the island but moved to a place with my landlord installed the electric one, not enough for an enjoyable longer shower while money wise, i think more or less.

altro, it sounds as if you have a tank heater.

angeluv and I are referring to continuous supply electric ones. These supply water indefinitely just like their gas equivalents. I have taken very long showers without issues. If you do have a continuous heater and your hot water is "running out" then there's something wrong with the heater.
