In July or August which are the best beachy style resorts to go too??
Have been thinking about Lankwai or Thailand??
Any comments would be much apprecited.

Am in much the same situation I have 4 kids 15, 12 2and a half and 6 mths and want to do a 10 day to 2 week holiday originally considered the UK but the weather is unpredictable and Cornwall is crowded.
Have considered Shangri-la Cebu or Penang where I understand they have an Adventure Zone like at AMC when it gets too hot outside,.

Langkawi, Krabi and Penang are great, but if you want a less crowded beach in July or August, head to Cebu instead. You can try the fabulous Hilton Cebu, which is about 30mins from the airport, or to the idyllic Bantayan Island, which is roughly an hour and a half from the airport. You can also go to Panglaw Island in Bohol, which is just a ferry ride away from Cebu City. Airfare to Cebu should also be a lot cheaper during this time.
